The Night Ride With Bruce Hodges Biog
Once upon a time there was a very demented DJ who decided to go on the air ...In June of 2002, the Nightrider began a radio show meant to be an alternative to the vulgar and profane radio that seemed to dominate night time. The Night Ride is a country show highlighting upbeat classic and contemporary country with an eclectic mixture of bluegrass and gospel. Yet, the Night Ride is more. It is a way in which God places His hand on your shoulder and assures you He's with you through the night. That is the highest objective of the Night Ride with Bruce Hodges......getting you safely through the night. "You're On The Night Ride!"

The objectives of The Night Ride With Bruce Hodges are:
To mix humor, insight, inspiration and news in a manner which compliments rather than insults the intelligence and sensibilities of the audience;
To play music responsibly and to play appropriate mixes of various genres of Country with an over-arching emphasis on up-tempo, hopeful music;
To involve listeners through request plays and even short skits with high emphasis on the protection of the listeners dignity;
To provide entertainment that builds rather than destroys character; and,
To present this entertainment so that parents have full confidence in the security of their children to listen to it without their supervision.

The higher objectives of The Night Ride With Bruce Hodges are:

To maintain a family, the Night Ride Family, rather than a radio show. To provide a source of security, warmth and fellowship through radio that is highly interactive with the family members. To provide an electronic home for people to tune in to where they feel at home;
To get the Night Ride family members safely through the night. To be the hand of God on their shoulder each night with the resounding message, You are NOT alone; and,
To be the radio icon of truth and integrity in the fulfillment of these objectives both on-air and off.

The night time audience is not benign in importance, as many in broadcasting feel, but rather insightful, introspective and many in number. Daytime audiences, by and large, turn radios on for noise. Night time listeners actually LISTEN, lacking many of the diversions that daytime listeners have;
Humor is therapeutic when it doesnt have to be filthy to be funny. Much night time programming seems to want to gutterize their audience;
The priority customer, contrary to what many in the radio industry have come to think, is not the advertiser, and certainly not the so-called celebrity, but rather the listener, without whom neither of the other two fickle categories will be there;
Silliness and foolishness can still be intelligent if combined with helpful information, news and insight;
Music is powerful and should be broadcast responsibly;
Audiences want eclectic programming and not the CMA bound, top 40 oriented, cookie cutter play lists most often played ad infinitum ad nauseum by radio stations throughout the country; and, finally,
God does His best work through secular, non-religious media.
