I've written a few songs about what I felt like when I returned home from Vietnam. A sense of alienation and as my emotional symptoms became more problematic, I sought help in the 1970's from the VA which turned me away, not recognizing post-traumatic stress at that time. This left me more angry and hopeless. Many years later, I am slowly working through my journey to feeling whole again. I realize many veterans themselves don't recognize PTSD but it's very real for those that sufffer from it.
