The halcyon days are gone, the good times are past. We used to roll into town, buy a couple of rounds, a hotel room and a tank of gas. Now we’re tightening our belts, we’ve got to make that pint of whiskey last. I’ve got the gasoline blues. We got four more years of the same and it’s bringing me down. Put our hand in the Gulf then the winds came a blowing and they flattened New Orleans town. Now the sign says $4.09 and that’s the best we’ve found. I’ve got the gasoline blues. When we’re driving up the mountain, we only get eight miles to the gallon. I could walk a hundred miles but I’d wear out the soles of my shoes. I’ve got the gasoline blues. |
