| "Hometown" | |
Been all around this big big world, I’ll tell you what I find: there’s nothing like the old hometown to ease a worried mind. I’ve seen purple mountains majesty, and skies of spacious blue; when the miles get too heavy though I come back home to you. Hometown, hometown, I’ll soon be on my way. Nothing will keep me from coming back ‘til they put me in my grave. Hometown, hometown, for all the things I do, it’s a weight off of my mind just coming home to you. One more show to work tonight about 15 miles away, then riding on the Interstate will keep me one more day. I’ve got leaving on my mind and in the morning I’ll be free. Just waiting for the sun to set tonight is killing me. Many years ago I dreamt about the road. Now that I’m out here all I can dream about’s my hometown, hometown, I’ll soon be on my way. Nothing will keep me from coming back ‘til they put me in my grave. Hometown, hometown, for all the things I do, it’s a weight off of my mind just coming home to you. |
